A safe space for healing…a safe space to be.

Mental Health Care

My approach

I view counseling through a cultural lens, this means I focus on all the dimensions of your lived experience as an individual who interacts with the world around them. My goal as a counselor is to help you acknowledge and consider your cognitive, emotional, relational, spiritual, motivational, and aspirational facets. It is my hope to support your self-healing journey by facilitating a deeper understanding of your worldview perspective, connections, and goals.

  • Angeles Polett Coss Gaona, Ph.D., LPC, PSC

    A little about me:

Polett here! I am a queer immigrant (first generation) counselor from Mexico. I am a former school counselor (4yrs) and am currently seeing clients virtually through Alma.

I hold a doctorate of philosophy in counselor education and supervision and aim to show up for myself at my fullest capacity. My dissertation topic focuses on eating behaviors and transgender males in my dissertation.

On evenings and weekends, I enjoy carving out time for stretching, reading, yoga, walking, cruising on my bicycle, traveling, and enjoying food in a deliberate manner.

As part of the community, it is important for me to advocate for affirmative care and amplify our voices.

I aim to provide evidence based/ model driven interventions to assist in helping people become the best selves they can be.

You will find a safe space within therapy within my practice. Let us meet each other half way, let us connect.

  • Hobbies

Adventures are my jam! Whether with my puppies, partner or family/friends, you can always find me using my senses. An active body stays in motion <3

  • Self Care

I love traveling, it allows me to expand my psychological flexibility and expand my perspective of things…traveling allows me to recharge.

“Between the stimulus and response, there is a space. And in that space lies our freedom and power to choose our responses. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” (Frankl, 1946)
