  • Expanding your Mood: It is All You Boo <3

Sometimes we think about how we start our day and other-times the day gets you started. without warning. However, if we intentionally carve five minutes of our morning, we can slowly create a ripple of self love and gratitude.

If you are feeling in a rut and want a boost in your morning mood (that may or may not linger through out the day) maybe try something new :)

    1) Try stretching after waking up. Meet your body half way and explore your body’s waves of motion.

    2) It is a body experience so try drinking cool water after stretching … after all, we are mammals ;)

    3) Before you leave your home, vocalize or silently think about something you are grateful for.

Hope this helps expand your perspective and mood; you’ve got this!

ps. don’t forget to frolic (to play and move about freely and excitedly)

    -Warmly,

  • When Someone Says Nature is the Cure: Taking Mental Health Days

Have you ever wondered what people mean when they say, “taking a mental health day”… and think, “wait, what exactly is a mental health day…? Should I take one?”.

Well, taking mental health days take the form of whatever soothes you in the moment. Taking a “mental health day” is tailored to fit your needs and it could look the same or different throughout your life journey. It is not always spending time being active, taking a walk or go be one with nature (though for some people it might be).

For some people being able to sleep in, take a nap or going to sleep early might be just what their body is asking for (listen to you body). For others, it might be waking up intentionally and going through a routine of tasks they want to accomplish (e.g., cleaning, paying bills, watering the garden or cooking/baking).

Yet for others it might be facial care routines, mindfully breathing, getting a massage, eating comforting food, watching a movie/binge watch a show, read a book, play games or journaling. Yet for others it might be spending time with their family (chosen family or immediate family members).

A mental health day is all about you and what brings you peace, remember…you matter.

    -Attentively,

    Polett
